Spotted at the Guilfest, Frazer and Joe were excited to be invited on to the James Neale Hour. Despite a detour via Basingstoke they managed to perform a debut radio airing of ‘Far Away’ in preparation for their second album. James opened the show with ‘Yesterday’s Gone’ their recent #1 hit and talked about the album and the Guilfest performance. With James’s excellent DJ banter Frazer left a few albums for prizes while Joe spent the off air time talking about Brian Wilson and the amazing fact he knew every single song played?

Highland singer Frazer Kennedy has formed a band with musicians from the Harrow, Brent and Pinner area to create a unique and contemporary sound that has its roots in Scotland but with branches reaching everywhere.

This year they have been playing at venues such as the Borderline, Pizza on the Park and are setting their sights on the big festivals next summer

Highland News Interview – Number one joy

A HIGHLAND singer has big plans for his new album the title track already at number one on the download chart of a London based independent unsigned music chart. Singer songwriter Frazer Kennedy who is now based in London  aimed for a smooth, world music feel to the arrangements for the songs on Yesterday’s Gone. And he is over the moon at the response to the album’s title track and hopes it’s a sign that he will be able to land a record deal with the songs.

The album was recorded towards the end of last year and finished in March. Since then, Frazer has been busy gigging and trying to get the word out about the album since its launch. ”I’m trying to work on the live side of things. Its seems to be more of a show rather than just a gig.” And everything from songs about Highland castles to a Native American-inspired chant, have helped Frazer put together his album of original numbers.
